Terms of Service — LAVERDE ARTISAN
Effective date: 30/08/2025
Legal entity: Laverde Artisan Ltd, Registered in England & Wales Company Number: 16480058
Registered address: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, UNITED KINGDOM

1) About us and scope
These Terms govern your use of our website and social channels, and any purchase of Laverde Artisan products — including Sicilian extra-virgin olive oil, wildflower honey, Sicilian wine (future range) and other premium gourmet products — by consumers and business (trade) customers in the UK. If you are a business customer, section 16 applies in addition and prevails in case of conflict.
2) Eligibility & age restrictions (alcohol)
You must be 18+ to purchase alcoholic products. We operate age verification at checkout and on delivery (“Challenge 25”). We may refuse or cancel an order if satisfactory ID is not provided; a re-delivery charge may apply if delivery is aborted due to failed age check. Selling alcohol to under-18s is unlawful in England & Wales. GOV.UK+1
- Alcohol orders will not be left in a “safe place” or with under-age persons.
- The delivery driver may decline delivery if age cannot be verified or where intoxication is suspected.
3) Ordering and contract formation
Your order is an offer to buy. We’ll email an Order Confirmation when we accept. If we cannot fulfil all or part of your order (e.g., small-batch stock constraints), we’ll notify you and refund any unavailable items.
4) Prices, taxes & payment
Prices are in GBP and either inclusive or exclusive of VAT as stated at checkout. We may update prices prior to acceptance. Payment is due at checkout unless otherwise agreed in writing (trade accounts).
5) Delivery, risk & title
We deliver to UK addresses and selected international destinations shown at checkout. Risk in goods passes on delivery; title passes once we receive full payment. Missed delivery, incorrect addresses or failed age checks may incur re-delivery fees.
6) Product quality, natural variation & information
We take pride in artisan, small-batch production. Natural batch variation in flavour, colour or aroma may occur and is not a defect (e.g., olive oil flavour notes vary by harvest; honey can crystallise naturally; wines may develop harmless sediment). Product descriptions, images, volumes and dimensions are provided in good faith; minor deviations can occur due to packaging updates. Always follow label storage guidance (e.g., oil away from heat/light; honey sealed and dry; wine stored cool and, where applicable, horizontally).
7) Allergen & food safety notice
We follow UK allergen-labelling rules. Always read the label for the 14 regulated allergens and any “may contain” advisories. Products labelled “vegan/vegetarian” are not guaranteed allergen-free due to potential cross-contact; only “free-from” claims follow stricter criteria. If you have allergies, contact us before purchase. Food Standards Agency+1
8) Cooling-off rights & returns (consumers)
If you are a consumer buying online, you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period from delivery to cancel most orders. Exceptions apply to:
- Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly; and
- Sealed goods not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
- These exemptions typically cover edible goods once opened/unsealed. Legislation.gov.uk+1
Our returns policy (summary)
- Unopened & sealed products: return within 14 days of delivery for a refund (customer pays return postage) unless we delivered a faulty/damaged or incorrect item.
- Opened/consumed products (oil, honey, wine): no returns for change-of-mind, for hygiene/food-safety reasons, unless faulty.
- Faulty, damaged or misdescribed products: we will refund or replace at no cost to you; please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos.
- This policy operates alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (e.g., 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods). Legislation.gov.uk+1
How to return: contact us for an RMA and instructions. Use a tracked service and pack securely. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving and inspecting returned goods.
9) Subscriptions, pre-orders & samples
Where offered, we will state frequency, price and cancellation windows.
Free or paid samples are for evaluation only and not for resale.
10) Promotions & gift cards
Promotional codes are single-use, non-transferable and may not be combined unless stated. Gift cards (if offered) are not exchangeable for cash and are valid for 12 months unless otherwise specified.
11) Acceptable use of our site
You agree not to misuse the site (e.g., introduce malware, scrape in bulk, infringe IP). We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or comply with law.
12) Intellectual property
All content (brand assets, images, copy, product photography and packaging artwork) is owned by or licensed to Laverde Artisan. You may not reproduce, modify or use our IP without prior written consent.
13) Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our aggregate liability for losses arising from any order is limited to the amount paid for the relevant products. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g., loss of profit, business interruption).
14) Force majeure
We are not responsible for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., strikes, transport disruption, customs delays, supply constraints, epidemics, or extreme weather).
15) International orders & customs
For deliveries outside the UK, you are the importer of record and responsible for local duties/taxes and regulatory compliance. Lead times may vary due to customs inspections and carrier processes. Alcohol shipments may be restricted by destination.
16) Additional terms for business (trade) customers:
a) Resale & territories. Trade purchases are for resale through approved channels within your territory and in the original packaging unless we approve private-label arrangements in writing.
b) Storage & quality control. Keep olive oil cool, dark, sealed; honey sealed and dry; wine cool, upright or horizontal as appropriate, and away from heat/light/vibration. We may refuse warranty where storage conditions are not met.
c) Payment terms. As agreed in writing. We may charge statutory interest on overdue sums and suspend further deliveries.
d) Shortages & defects. Inspect on delivery. Notify us within 48 hours of shortages/visible damage; latent defects within 7 days of discovery.
e) Indemnity. You indemnify us for third-party claims arising from unauthorised relabelling, repacking or marketing claims you create.
f) Title retention. Title remains with Laverde Artisan until we receive cleared funds for all outstanding invoices.
17) Complaints & dispute resolution
We aim to resolve issues quickly — contact laverdeartisan@gmail.com
18) Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their local courts where mandatory law grants that right.
19) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply to orders placed after the Effective date shown above.
20) Privacy
How we process personal data (including age-verification checks and fraud prevention) is set out in our Privacy Policy, incorporated by reference.
Why these clauses matter (plain-English underpinnings)
- Opened food & hygiene: UK distance-selling rules permit excluding returns for unsealed hygiene items and rapidly perishable goods; we rely on those exemptions for opened edibles. Legislation.gov.uk+1
- Faulty goods: Consumers retain CRA 2015 remedies, including a 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods. Legislation.gov.uk+1
- Alcohol: Sale to under-18s is prohibited; section 182 guidance under the Licensing Act 2003 underpins Challenge 25 and enforcement expectations GOV.UK+1
- Allergens: Follow the FSA framework (14 allergens); “vegan” ≠ “allergen-free” — communicate clearly and use “free-from” only when applicable. Food Standards Agency+1
