Where the coffee comes from

One region. One washed lot.
Roasted the week you drink it.

Madrigal comes from the ASOCAFÉ Tatamá growers around Santuario, Risaralda — a community of Colombian smallholders farming at high altitude on the slopes of the Tatamá massif. The washed, sun-dried beans score 83+ on the SCA scale, the threshold that separates specialty coffee from commodity.

We roast in small batches every week so the bag on your counter is fresh, not sitting in a warehouse for months. That freshness — and the quality of the lot — is what earned it 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards 2026.

How to brew it

One bag. Every
brew method.

A medium-roast single origin like Madrigal is forgiving and versatile — it shines whether you pull it as espresso or brew it slow. Grind to order for the best cup.

Espresso · Moka

Rich, balanced, no bitterness.

A fine grind gives a sweet, syrupy espresso with a clean finish. The moka pot brings out the same body without a machine.

Pour-Over · V60 · Filter

Clarity and character.

A medium grind and a slow pour reveal the washed-process clarity — bright, clean, with the origin's natural sweetness front and centre.

Cafetière · French Press

The everyday morning cup.

A coarse grind and a four-minute steep make the easiest full-bodied brew — the daily ritual most Londoners come back to.

Coffee & Olive Oil

The Mediterranean morning.

Pair a strong Madrigal with a slice of bread and a drizzle of our Sicilian EVOO — the Mediterranean breakfast that's changing UK mornings.

Specialty vs the pod machine

Why 83+ SCA beans beat
the pod and the supermarket bag.

Convenience coffee is engineered for shelf life, not flavour. Here's what changes when you switch to a single-origin roasted the week you drink it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want
to know about Madrigal.

What makes Madrigal a specialty coffee?
It scores 83+ on the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) scale — the recognised threshold for specialty grade — and it's a single-origin washed lot from the ASOCAFÉ Tatamá growers in Risaralda, Colombia, not an anonymous blend. It was awarded 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards 2026.
How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?
We roast in small batches every week, so your bag is roasted close to dispatch rather than sitting in a warehouse. For the best flavour, use whole beans within 3–4 weeks of the roast date and grind to order.
Do you sell it ground, or only whole beans?
Currently whole beans 250g, so you can grind fresh for your brew method. A 1kg cafetería format and drip bags are coming soon.
What roast level is it and how should I brew it?
Medium roast — versatile across espresso, moka, pour-over, filter and cafetière. Use a finer grind for espresso and a coarser grind for French press.
How do I store the beans?
Keep them in an airtight container, away from light, heat and moisture. Don't refrigerate. Buy little and often for the freshest cup.
Can I get it delivered same-day in London?
Yes — Madrigal is available on Deliveroo across Central London alongside our EVOO and honey. Standard UK delivery is 48–72 hours, free over £40.
