How long does a 500ml bottle of EVOO last after opening?

A 500ml typically lasts 10–14 weeks once opened with daily kitchen use, kept in a cool dark cupboard. For a household that cooks regularly with EVOO — drizzling, dressing salads, sautéing — that works out to about one bottle every three months. The closer you stay to the harvest date the better, so we recommend using rather than hoarding.

When was this 500ml bottle harvested?

Our current 500ml is from the November 2025 harvest, cold-pressed within four hours of picking at a traditional stone mill in the Caltanissetta region of central Sicily. The harvest date is printed on every bottle. We bottle current-season harvest exclusively, and the next pressing is November 2026.

Is this oil good for daily cooking?

Yes — the 500ml format is designed exactly for that. Biancolilla cold-pressed has a smoke point around 190–210°C, which covers sautéing, roasting, shallow-frying, and finishing. Single-estate cold-pressed EVOO is what every Sicilian household uses for everything from breakfast eggs to evening pasta. Reserve the smaller 100ml or 250ml for gifting and pure raw finishing if you prefer.

Does this qualify for free UK delivery?

How should I store an unopened 500ml bottle?

Unopened bottles are best stored in a cool, dark cupboard between 14–18°C. Do not store near the hob, oven, or radiator. Do not refrigerate. Unopened bottles from current-season harvest are best consumed within 12–18 months of the harvest date. Once opened, aim to use within 10–14 weeks for peak flavour and polyphenol content.
